Sumayyah Ismail

Sumayyah Ismail is a senior at Notre Dame High School in San Jose. As an ardent public speaker part of her school’s speech and debate team, Sumayyah has participated in countless tournaments on the state and national level, ranking Top 16 in World Schools and Top 32 in Impromptu! Through public speaking, she gained her confidence to pursue the field of STEM and started to conduct independent research through science fairs, and eventually joined a lab where she conducts wet-lab biochemistry research. Noticing the lack of women in the field of STEM research, she founded STEM ResearcHER, a nonprofit organization that empowers women to pursue careers in STEM research by providing them with research opportunities. Gaining 1500+ followers on social media, and impacting 300+ attendees for events and slack, she aims to do much more! She is also the President of the Muslim Student Association at her school, where she has led countless events such as World Hijab Day, and hosted an Eid Festival. In her free time, she loves to cook, play soccer, and spend time with friends! Sumayyah is very excited to increase Miss CEO’s reach to further impact the lives of many young women as an ambassador!
